I try and always have my own personal Cape Falcon F1 kayak up for sale, but they go quickly.
Smile96 is my current F1, launched in May and is constructed with Kairi Pine and Tasmanian Blackwood with Silky Oak floorboards.
$3,200 will get you as good an example of an F1 Kayak that I can build given over ten years of experience, plus a new paddle built to match your size and paddling requirements……..
I can arrange freight to any major airport in Australia. I’ll pack and deliver to whatever freight depot you chose here in Hobart for $100…

Back Bands and Floatation Bags
The back bands are made locally now that the Snap Dragon ones are unavailable. $65.00 plus postage….
The very best floatation bags were those that SpiritLine used to sell. As they have been unavailable for a number of years I’ve decided to have them made up locally as well. They inflate into the F1 kayak shape just fine and I would describe them as “large” – $320.00 a pair, plus postage…
Lampshades and Lamps
The “canoesandlampshades” bit came from several of my lightweight canoes being hung as lampshades- a perfect way to store a piece of useable art…….well the name led to inquiries for lampshades, and so, I build lamps, lampshades, etc on commission.
So if you want something different, if you’re attracted by the soft glow of light through Huon or Dacron……give me a call, and let’s chat…..
Pedestal Lamp – my own design built with a robust skin that can be easily cleaned and kept looking beautiful- $1200
The Pedestal Lamp can also be made with any or all of the four sides made with Huon Pine veneer to give a really stunning piece of furniture during the day, and a unique focal point at night – $2400
